The
morning started off with a tour of a local perfume
factory. Even though the air was rather thick
with scents, the group pushed its way past fresh
lavender, lemon rhines and vanilla beans. Soap
was being made and toilette waters were being
bottled. After the tour, the guide invited us
to test and guess a selection of scents. Personally,
I couldn't smell a thing but the last thing.

The
group split up and explored nice at their own paces.
We took a train in to town and found the Museum
of Modern art. Its a very exciting place, as they
have several big names in their permanent collection;
Yvets, Arman, Cristo, and Dali just to name a few.
They also had an impressive temporary exhibit of
both Sartor and Calzolari when we went.

The
convention center of nice was a sight to see. The
Acropolis is the epistyle of avant guard and a sure
architectural landmark. Its gardens softened the
blow some, though it was still easily distinguishable
from its surroundings.

After
walking through the cities gardens, including the
Place Massena, we came upon the Promenade. What
a scene--what a life style. If you you want the
essence of the Riviera, you've got Nice. Though
tops are optional, relaxation is mandatory. No sand
in the 'kini either. Only smooth rocks and pebbles.

Supper
was as a group in Nice, though no one had to much
to say after baking in the sun all day. The tour had
out done itself earlier in the hotel pool also. Just
when you thought the fun was over, someone would push
you back in. We made use of the flotation devices,
as well as our patriotism as each nation tested their
swim skills.

Twelve
to fourteen euro will get you a chaise, a towel boy
and a view. Though you'll only need two out of three
at any given time- trust me.
